DRISHTI: HAR GAON, HAR GHAR

DRISHTI: Har Gaon, Har Ghar, aimed at bringing primary eye care to every household in every village across the country. With “Har Gaon Har Ghar” as our mission, we strive to bring eye care to even the most remote corners of our country, where access and awareness are lacking.

Who are Drishti Didis?

With an aim to create access to primary eye care in rural India, we recruit ‘women eye marshals’, aka Drishti Didi, from within the villages.

Recruitment

Most Drishti Didis are women who have never ventured out of their homes to work and earn. We empower them to take charge.

Training

We train these women meticulously in conducting a 4-step preliminary eye test to ensure accurate first-level screening.

Outreach

Drishti Didis visit every household, conduct basic tests for all members, and spread awareness about regular eye check-ups.

Data Collection

They conduct the 4-step eye test on all, collect the required data, and inform villagers about their vision status.

Every 2 months, based on vision data sent to the central team, a specialized team of optometrists and patient coordinators is deployed to the villages. They conduct detailed eye screening for 3–7 days, along with prescription and distribution of eyeglasses.
